In an effort to create some positivity and help those in desperate need in a very challenging year, ICG next has partnered with Fulfill (formerly Monmouth County Food Bank) to organize a food drive. Fulfill is a worthy local organization that helps fight the battle of homelessness, poverty, and hunger plaguing so many families.
See the list below as the organization is very deliberate and intentional in what they gather for families in need. This will help ensure the maximum impact of our food drive.
Most Needed Items (Please, no glass containers!):
Canned Tuna, Chicken, and Salmon
Canned veggies (low sodium, where possible)
Cooking oils
Canned fruits (in juice or light syrup)
Soups (low sodium, where possible)
Suggestions: Chicken noodle, Chicken and rice, Beef vegetable, Minestrone, Split pea, Lentil
Ready-to-eat canned meals
Suggestions: Chili (bean, chicken, beef), Stew (vegetable, chicken, beef), Ravioli (cheese, beef), Chicken w/ rice and vegetables, Spaghetti and meatballs
Hot Cereals (such as oatmeal, steel cut oats, farina, muesli)
Cold Cereals
Suggestions: Toasted O’s (original or honey nut), Bran flakes, Corn flakes shredded, Wheat brown rice, Grape-Nuts, Special K, Fiber One cereals, Cascadian Farms cereals, Kashi cereals
Shelf-stable milk
Pancake mix and syrup
Peanut butter and jelly
Fruit juice (100% juice)
Note: Please look for low sodium options (140mg or less per serving OR 5% daily value (DV) or less per serving). Please select cereals with whole grains listed as one of the first ingredients on the label. Less than 10g sugar per serving. 3-5g of fiber per serving. 5g or more of protein per serving.
Please drop off all items neatly packed in a cardboard box to Deb in our ICG next lobby on or before Friday November 20, 2020.
